Comparative Cytogenetic Analysis of Spontaneous Abortions in Recurrent and Sporadic Pregnancy Losses
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background: The majority of miscarriages are sporadic; however, 1–5% of couples experience recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL). Approximately 50–60% of miscarriages result from chromosomal abnormalities. Currently, there are conflicting reports regarding the rates of chromosomal abnormalities between recurrent and sporadic pregnancy losses. Methods: A retrospective comparative cytogenetic analysis of 442 RPL and 466 sporadic abortions (SA) was performed. Maternal age and medical background were evaluated, and chromosomal abnormality rates were compared between groups. Results: The frequency of embryos with abnormal karyotypes was significantly higher in SA compared to RPL (56.7 and 46.6%, respectively), Published online: April 27, 2016 Tatiana V. Balanced Chromosomal Translocations of Parents in Relation to Spontaneous Abortions
The most significant complication of pregnancy is recurrent miscarriage. Numerous factors have been described as associations with recurrent wastage such as: uterine abnormalities, immunological factors, endocrinologic imbalance and chromosomal defects. Cytogenetic evaluation of couples with recurrent pregnancy losses is performed on the basis of G-banding technique only after other possible et...
متن کاملChromosomal Analysis of Couples with Repeated Spontaneous Abortions in Northeastern Iran
Background Cytogenetic study of reproductive wastage is an important aspect in determining the genetic background of early embryogenesis. Approximately 15 to 20% of all pregnancies in humans are terminated as recurrent spontaneous abortions (RSAs). The aim of this study was to detect chromosome abnormalities in couples with RSAs and to compare our results with those reported previously. Materia...
متن کاملEndometrial Granulated Lymphocytes in Women Suffering Spontaneous Early Pregnancy Loss
Spontaneous abortion is the most common complication of pregnancy. Several lines of evidence indicate that immunologic effector cells may play a role in the pathogenesis of idiopathic repetitive abortions. Leukocytes form a substantial proportion of stromal cells in decidua and the endometrial granulated lymphocytes (eGL) is the predominant decidual leukocyte population in the first trimester o...
متن کاملP-193: The Association of Apolipoprotien E Polymorphisms with Recurrent Pregnancy Loss
Background: The role of apolipoprotien E polymorphisms do not diagnostic correctly in recurrent pregnancy loss etiology but Apo E has been shown to play an important role in lipid metabolism in pregnancy. We evaluated these polymorphisms in Iranian women with unexplained recurrent pregnancy loss. Materials and Methods: 5 ml Blood were sampling from 81 women with a history of two or more consecu...
